Attend our Pack 6 Fun Day on August 29 to sign up and meet our families!
Before your shift

Make sure your Scout has a Trail’s End account
Scouts wear Class A uniforms
Charge your phone and bring water/snacks to your shift
If you have the first shift, arrange to pick up popcorn and supplies
If you have the last shift, plan to return popcorn and supplies
Arrive about 10 - 15 minutes early to your scheduled shift
Class A uniform
Water and snacks
Charged phone with App installed
During your shift
Fill out an inventory sheet to track shift inventory, sales, and donations
Record EVERY sale in Trail’s End, including cash sales
Keep cash sales and cash donations separate until the end of the shift
Scouts should greet customers politely as they exit the store
Do not block doors, enter the parking lot, chase customers, run, yell, or play
Follow store manager instructions for setup
Remeber: Follow the scout oath and law!
At the end of EVERY shift
Carefully count popcorn inventory and record amounts
Count cash from sales and dontations...record both on accountability sheet
Complete the Shift Accountability Sheet and sign
Incoming and outgoing adults should verify the counts
Leave the storefront clean and organized
Each Scout needs their own account, including siblings.
Parents can:
Use the same email address for multiple Scout accounts
Switch between Scouts using the account/name menu
Use one device during a storefront shift
In the Trail’s End app:
Storefronts → Select Date → Select Location → Select Shift → Sign Up
Popcorn sales are automatically divided among the Scouts signed up for that storefront shift.

Scouts in front → Popcorn/table → Parents behind
That keeps the Scouts interacting with customers while adults manage payments and inventory as needed.
A simple version:
“Hi! My name is ______. I’m raising money for Cub Scouts. Would you like to support us with some popcorn?”
If they say:
“I don't have cash.”
Scout:
“No problem — we take credit cards!”
“I’ll get you on the way out.”
Scout:
“Thank you!”
“No thanks.”
Scout:
“Thank you! Have a great day!”
“Can I just donate?”
Scout:
“Absolutely. Thank you for supporting Scouts!”
For each sale:
Start Sale → Add Products → Checkout → Cash / Credit
Record:
Cash sales
Credit/debit sales
Electronic payments
Donations as applicable
The guide also notes that Apple Pay, Google Pay and Cash App may be handled through the customer-device checkout option.
The guide recommends converting eligible cash sales to credit/electronic sales at the end of the shift when possible because this can increase Trail’s End reward points from 1× to 1.25×.
I would put this in a yellow Google Sites callout:
⭐ Reward Points Tip
Converting cash sales to credit sales may give the Scout additional Trail’s End reward points.
Keep donations separate from popcorn-sale cash.
Record them based on the donor's intent.
The guide distinguishes between:
Pack donations
Heroes & Helpers donations
The guide states that credit-card donations are entered as Heroes & Helpers / Military Sales.
This should probably be one of the largest sections on the site.

Yes. Handle cash donations according to the donor's stated intent.
Can we accept credit cards?
